Bucas at Badminton 2014!
Bucas is proud to announce that it will have 2 sponsored riders and possibly 1 more, from the waiting list, competing in Badminton Horse Trials (7th – 11th May) this year. Representatives from 11 National Federations have made the entries list with another 3 nations on the waiting list; it sure looks like a trilling competition this year. Some riders will be breathing a sigh of relief with the notable non-entry of World, European and Olympic Champion, Germany’s Michael Jung. Already William Fox-Pitt (GB) and Andrew Nicholson (NZL) are clear favorites to take the Mitsubishi Motors Trophy this year. But not only is it Badminton, but it will act as a trial for team members across nationalities to throw their name into the hat for WEG team selection due to take place in Normandy, France August 23rd to September 7th!
Previous winner Great Britain’s, Mary King will be there competing, the Irish Sport Horse gelding, Imperial Cavalier. This will be Mary’s first proper run with the gelding since last summer as he was let off due to injury but Mary’s ensures us he is fighting fit and rearing to go after winning his 1st outing in the Advanced Intermediate class at Aldon a few weeks ago.
Next is Irish Olympian Joseph Murphy and the Ballindenisk 2013 CCI3* winner Sportsfield Othello. Joseph and the gelding have showed great results already this year with a win in Kilquilkey House at O/CNC2* and 3rd in Ballindenisk CNC3* just last weekend. Also entered for the CICO3*in Ballindenisk in April this looks like it will be a great pre-Badminton warm-up for Joseph and Othello.
Irish International Michael Ryan and Ballylynch Skyport are on the waiting list so fingers, toes and legs cross Bucas could have a possible 3 riders competing at the prestigious event in May! Bucas will also have a retail presence in Badminton again this year with Tosca Rugs stocking a full range and some great bargains on end of season rugs.
