Buzz-Off Belly Pad

The Buzz-Off Belly Pad is made from a specially developed light weight fine mesh fabric. Protecting your horse’s belly from biting insects and to be used with any of the Buzz-Off range of fly rugs.

Furthermore Bucas Fly Mesh material has excellent breathability, ventilation, visibility, while being lightweight, durable and easy to use. Blocking even the smallest of insects, and reducing the effects of ultraviolet radiation.

Flies can be a nuisance to horses and can cause discomfort, irritation, and even pain. Therefore, full body protection is important for your horse because flies can bite anywhere on their body.

Consequently, the design of the Belly Pad stretches from the elbow to the sheath, adding additional protection to your Buzz-Off rug.

With 75% UV protection the Buzz-Off Belly Pad  helps to prevent sunburn or any further irritation of the skin and helps to prevent their coat from being bleached – no need to worry if they are sunbathing!

Available in Buzz-Off Blue or Zebra Stripe.

Research discovered that flies hate Zebra stripes! One study found that flies landed on zebra stripes at one fourth of the rate they landed on horses. The theory is that the stripes create an optical illusion that makes it difficult for flies to land on the zebra’s skin and bite. This is because they are unable to accurately gauge the zebra’s size, shape, and distance due to the striped pattern. Additionally, the black and white stripes of the zebra pattern are thought to be effective at dissipating heat and helping in the regulation the horse’s body temperature.
